how old are you

(26/365) How old you be if you didn’t know how old you are?

Its a funny question. In my place there are many tier of the way we call someone based on how old they are. I dont know how to explain it in english, but I hope you can understand a little bit. When we called someone younger or in the same age with us, we used to called them by their name/nickname only. We used to called them just by looking to them without asking how old are you.

For someone a little bit older than us (maybe under 10 years gap), we called it “Mas” or “Mbak” or “Kak”. Its a Javanese culture. And for someone far way older than use, we used to called them “Pak” or “Bu”. Somehow when I go to mall or some place with my friend, they called me “Pak” and called my friend “Kak”. Even actually I’m in the same age with my friend. And some times they even call me “Om” rather than “Mas” — “Om” is somewhere between “Mas” and “Pak”.

One of my colleauge, that already know and do collaboration for 1 year, surprise about my age. He just know my age is almost ten years below them. All that he know is I’m in the same age with him, and he always call me “Mas” until today. Its rude LOL! I know that my face is looks older than my actual age, also the way I speak is little bit different with people with same age with me. In my opinion, thats because of I do business everyday with many people older than me. I communicate with them, I meet with them, so I dont feel like I live in my actual age. But that the way it happen, nothing to worry about. Age is just a number (in a positive way, I warn you!).

So when I asked how old are you if I dont know how old I am, I will answer its about around 10-15 years than my actual age.
